Except during preparation, cooking, or cooling, or when time is used as the public health control, time/temperature control for safety food shall be maintained at 41°F (5°C) or below or 135°F. -9 points
Inspector Notes: Observed multiple items on serving line holding ate temperatures below 135 F. CA: Time/Temperature Control for Safety Food, Hot and Cold Holding. In related news, the Department of Health & Human Services Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently published a new inspection of Douglasville Nursing & Rehab that was done on February 8. There were 18 total citations. Violations include:
- facility failed to maintain dignity by ensuring a urinary catheter dignity bag was provided for two of 45 sampled residents. An interview was conducted with the Unit Manager who said "she expected the nursee to ensure that it was properly covered."
- dirty packaged terminal air conditioner (PTAC) filters and broken slats, loose call light panels, and oversized ceiling light fixtures which covered or partially covered the return air vents in six of 141 occupied resident rooms
- residents had no care plans-one patient had no plan for a certain medication and another plan had no plan for hospice care or for oxygen.
- "failed to use humidification while oxygen was in use with flowrates over 2 liters per minute for two of 45 sampled residents"--this "had the potential to cause respiratory distress"--the oyxgen concentrator was "covered with surfae dirt".
