F. Hold a public hearing to consider the adoption of the City of Douglasville’s Urban Redevelopment plan.

Policy 1.1 Increase accessibility and connectivity for alternative modes of transportation by providing safe and efficient pedestrian infrastructure within the Study Area over the railroad tracks.
• Construct a pedestrian bridge across the railroad tracks and Veterans Memorial Hwy between the Douglasville Depot location and Campbellton St.
• Construct a pedestrian crossing between Colquitt St and James St.
• Improve pedestrian safety infrastructure at the roadway crossing at Rose Ave. and Strickland Ave. by constructing a dedicated sidewalk, installing pedestrian islands on each side of the tracks, and a signalized crossing.
Policy 1.2 Provide safe and efficient links between existing pedestrian infrastructure.
• Upgrade streetscape amenities and provide additional multimodal options along Hwy 92.
• Install sidewalks along Gurley Rd. to provide pedestrian access to Hunter Memorial Park.
Policy 1.3 Provide safe and efficient links betseen existing pedestrian infrastructure.
• Construct proposed 1.6 miles of new sidewalks in identified locations currently lacking sidewalks
Other goals include creating “pocket parks, dog parks, greenways and trails” Another goal is to construct a library branch or obile library north of Veterans Memorial Pkwy. There are also goals to attract businesses.
