ONE DEAD IN DOUGLASVILLE SHOOTING

At approximately 2026 hours on February 12, 2025, Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a shooting incident on High Country Drive in the Elk Run Subdivision. Upon arrival, deputies found a 16-year-old juvenile with a single gunshot wound and immediately requested emergency medical assistance. Nearby, deputies also discovered another juvenile and two young adults, all friends of the victim.
Around the same time, a second adult victim arrived at Douglas WellStar Hospital with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Deputies responded to the hospital as well. Investigators and Crime Scene Units from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to both the scene on High Country Drive and the hospital.
Shortly after their arrival, investigators identified all parties involved. Multiple vehicles and weapons were recovered, along with spent and live ammunition. At 0836 hours this morning, after undergoing several hours of emergency surgery, the juvenile victim passed away.
Currently, two young adults and one juvenile are in custody and facing adult charges, including Party to the Crime of Armed Robbery, Party to the Crime of Aggravated Assault, and Tampering with Evidence. Investigators are collaborating closely with the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office as additional charges are anticipated. This remains an active investigation, and further details are being withheld to protect the integrity of the evidence and ensure justice is served.
