REACHING OUT TO BARNES & NOBLE
I sent this to Barnes & Noble. After Douglasville Books closed last year, all Douglasville has is a small Books-A-Million. I think Barnes & Noble would fit well here. I am not sure if Douglasville or Douglas County even actively reaches out to businesses that citizens would like to see. f you would like to send them a message to request they open a store here (the more requests they get, the better), just go to https://help.barnesandnoble.com/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=4414014383131

I hope you will consider locating a Barnes & Noble in Douglasville, Georgia. Douglasville has seen many retail additions in the past year including Planet Fitness (inside Arbor Place Mall), Crumbl Cookies, Clean Eatz (opening soon in The Landing At Arbor Place), T's Brunch Bar (two locations in Douglasville--one inside Arbor Place Mall and one on Veterans Memorial Hwy), This Is It! BBQ (near Arbor Place Mall), among others.
There are several empty locations near Arbor Place Mall, which is an area that sees high amounts of traffic. Party City will soon be closing its location as will Big Lots, both of which are in the shopping center directly across from the mall. The second floor of the former Sears at Arbor Place Mall (and probably the first since Conn's closed) are up for lease. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/6700-Douglas-Blvd-Douglasville-GA/30975202/ The current location of Kohls seems to be up for lease. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/2989-Chapel-Hill-Rd-Douglasville-GA/30649061/ The former Value Village, across from Kroger, The Juicy Crab, and adjacent to Verizon and Red Lobster, is up for lease. https://www.loopnet.com/Listing/3150-Highway-5-Douglasville-GA/31957910/
Douglasville has an average household income of $72,753. Douglas County's average household income is $80,764.
Finally, there is little to no competition in Douglasville when it comes to bookstores. Douglasville Books, the city's only independent bookstore, closed last year after 40 years in business. A small Books-A-Million inside Arbor Place Mall does not offer the range of books, magazines (they don't even sell magazines anymore), or gifts that Barnes & Noble would be able to offer.
The community of Douglasville would welcome Barnes & Noble with open arms. This bookstore would offer local events to the community that Books-A-Million does not, such as author signings, children's book readings, and a cafe where people would be able to grab a coffee and a delicious danish while perusing the latest bestsellers.
Douglasville is growing, and Douglasville needs Barnes & Noble.
