A WARN notice is short for Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification. This is legally required by each employer to provide advance notice of plant closings or mass layoffs to employees, their representatives, and local authorities. This ensures workers have time to prepare for job loss.
Essendant, which has a distribution center in Lithia Springs, will be laying off all of their 64 employees at said location beginning on May 30, 2025. They will be closing this distribution center permanently.
They will lay the employees off in five phases. Each phase has a different date:

Essendant appointed Dave Rickard, formerly the interim chief transformation officer, as CEO in January. Essendant’s annual net sales exceed $5 billion.
Essendant has other warehouses in Suwanee, Georgia; Charlotte, North Carolina; Irving, Texas; Perris, California; Carol Stream, Illinois; Phoenixville, Pennsylvania; among others.
Essendant’s Lithia Springs Distribution Center has a Google review rating of 3.3 stars out of five, with five reviews from truck drivers stating they had to wait two or more hours for their trucks to be unloaded.
An opening for a warehouse shipping associate position at the Irving, Texas Essendant distributiuon location is paying $19.20 per hour. A forklift operator at the Charlotte, North Carolina distribution facility will pay $18.20 per hour.
The Douglas County Chamber of Commerce awarded Essendant the 2022 Large Business of the Year Award in 2022. A post on the company’s LinkedIn states:
